How to make one of Magaby's Appliqued Tee's all by yourself!!!

Creating and designing these fun baby items is what I love to do! For many of my friends, they say they just don't have it in them!!! I think they just need to try it and see how easy it really can be:) So I thought I would give a couple tips to help them and anyone else who wants to give it a shot!!
Things you will need:
fabric (your choice)
Wonder Under (iron on fusible)
iron
scissors
pencil/pen
t shirt, onesie, bag, etc.
sewing machine ***(optional)
First choose a t shirt, onesie, bag, etc. that you would like to apply an applique to; then go to your local fabric and/or hobby store and find a cute fabric that you like. While there, be sure to pick up some Wonder Under, you will need this to iron on your applique. Pick a cute design you would like to have on your tshirt, bag, or anything you can iron on. practice drawing OR tracing the design, when you have it down just right; take your fabric and your Wonder Under, cut both pieces to a size that will allow you to draw your design on. Follow the directions from the Wonder Under to fuse them together with your iron. You can then draw or trace your design onto the 'paper' side of the Wonder Under, cut your design, follow directions on how to iron on, and voile...you have an appliqued tee!!! The Wonder Under should be good enough to hold your applique through washing if done correctly:)!! If you prefer to stitch around the edges for a 'more' appliqued look, you can simply use your sewing machine to stitch around the edges. Be sure to set your machine to the correct settings and take it slow!!

And that's all!!! Go give it a try and be sure to leave a comment to let me know how they turn out!!!!
I would love to have you follow my Blog for more sewing tips to come!!!! Just click on 'follow my blog'!!!

My husband just cracks me up.....seriously!!

If you are wondering what in the world this is??? Well, this is what happens to your living room when your 5 and 3 year-olds want to camp out and they ask Daddy to build them a tent!!! Now I knew my hubby would do something fun and creative, but I never imagined a tent the size of cabin!!! It hung from the fireplace all the way to the back of the couch. He even pulled in dinning room chairs for extra support! The funniest part is that he even pinned pillow cases up about mid-way, to make a separate room. I am so glad he thought to get pictures so I could share them. The girls, of course, loved it and slept all night inside. Unfortunately, this morning they were awoken by our cat, Pearly, jumping on top of it and pulling it completely down. I guess she wanted in on the fun too!! We were very thankful that she waited until morning for her little trampoline fun!

Magaby's is honored to be part of 'Blogger's Give'

Bloggers GiveAs many of you know, Magaby's was Featured on MomFuse.com a few months ago. Well, I was contacted by Jessica, at MomFuse, recently to be part of Blogger's Give. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to donate a sweet little outfit in hopes it can bring at least a few dollars to their cause. For the next few months Blogger's Give will be working with The Center for Courageous Kids. Here is a little of what B.G. has to say about their latest endeavor:
'When we talked to The Center for Courageous Kids, we knew we had the right spot. As I talked to their director, I saw their vision and their unique camp that changes year round to specialize in different disabilities and medical conditions. This camp is a way for kids to forget about their situations for one week, and for their parents to connect with like parents of children going through the same hardships. They also keep a full medical facility on hand that specializes in the condition the children have, but the doctors wear Hawaiian shirts and hang out with the kids…they are not just ‘more doctors’. The facility also has a helipad, should the need arise, and full access to hospitals.'
Please go to their site to read more and see how you can help out these great kids!!! I think there are many ways to be involved so go check it out!!!

WHAT IS BLOGGERS GIVE:
'Bloggers Give was sparked by being a blogger. I love charity and I feel that bloggers have an untapped way to make a true difference.
If you have ever worked on a project where you solicited donations, you know how hard it can be to get companies to donate. There are grants, there is legal approval. All in all, there is a ton of work to be done and many, many times you are shot down before you have your foot in the door.
But everyday bloggers receive products all over the ‘net to test and to give away in small quantities, without a second thought.
Thus, Bloggers Give was born.'

Sewing is in the blood....YIPEE!!!!

All my oldest girl kept asking for for Christmas this year was her very own sewing machine, so she could make some 'fun stuff' too! For three months she reminded me on a regular basis that she REALLY wanted one, and could it be purple?!
Well, Christmas morning came and for the first time, I have to add, she tore through every present in about a minute! She didn't make much mention of the sewing machine as the paper was flying around the room and I think I felt a small tinge of disappointment go through me. Then, as the paper was cleared, she was looking through her 'loot' and realized what was there in front of her...a white, and yes, purple sewing machine...the color scheme was total dumb luck! Anyway, she was so excited and just had to make something right away. So we went to my sewing room and found the perfect scrap fabric and she made her very first pillow. I was quit impressed at how it turned out and of course beaming with pride!!! She then had to make her little sister a heart shaped pillow (I cut the shape for her)! That one turned out so cute that she of course had to make a heart pillow for herself!! Not too bad for a 5 year-old....it must be in the blood!!!!

Happy New Year

From our family to yours....Have a safe and prosperous 2009!!!

And may God Bless you and yours....with as many Magabys products as you can possible afford...hee hee ;)

Seriously, I feel that with all the trials my family has been through the past two years we have been so blessed through all the hardships. I truly believe that God will not give us more than we can handle and He is with us through it all. He has given me an unbelievable opportunity to create this wonderful company to share what I love to do with others. I am so thankful for my relationship with Christ, my sweet husband and my children that give me something to laugh about everyday. May we all find happiness in all the trials and successes that lie ahead and His Grace given in it all.

Have a wonderful 2009!!
